A Taste of Spain: Tapas, Sangria, and Coastal Dreams
When I think about our trip to Spain, the food lingers in my memory — rich, flavorful, and an experience all its own. From bustling tapas bars to seaside dinners, every meal felt like a celebration of the moment.
We fell in love with the simplicity and boldness of Spanish cuisine. Tapas became a daily ritual, paired with glasses of perfectly chilled sangria. One dish, in particular, stuck with us: Espinacas con Garbanzos (spinach with chickpeas). It was so good that I’m determined to recreate it at home to pair with our tortilla española. Another Spanish classic — a thick egg omelette with potatoes, and in our Cuban household, slices of plantains.
And let’s not forget the paella. Sitting by the shore, sharing a pan of saffron-scented rice, fresh seafood, and sunshine was something we’d dreamed about long before this trip. Spain’s food isn’t just about eating — it’s about connecting with the culture and savoring every bite.
Now, let me take you on a visual journey through some of the best meals we had. I hope it inspires your own culinary adventures in Spain!
