San Francisco is a city known for its diverse and eclectic food scene. From classic seafood dishes at Fisherman’s Wharf to the famous sourdough bread, there is no shortage of delicious and unique eats to indulge in while visiting this hilly city. Recently we where in SF to help my brother in law propose to his girlfriend — long story short she said yes! Although we had limited time on this weekend trip, I wanted to do what I call “a cafe crawl.”
“What’s that?”, you ask.
It’s where we sample one or two things from nearby cafes and coffee houses all by foot. On our last visit to SF, over 5 years ago, we had Craftsman and Wolves where I snapped this photo. It still lives in my mind rent free. So that was my only real agenda item on this trip!
I based this mini cafe crawl on that memory of their savory muffin with the most perfect poached egg inside it. I didn’t know how they made the perfect poached egg in the middle, but it’s my kind of witch craft! Eater actually did an article on this true piece of artistry.
We were staying with my brother in law in Japantown so many of these places were in that area. I hope to inspire your taste buds to book your own culinary adventure SanFran!
